A series of cups. A new process learned. I created a plaster cast of an initial hand-built cup. Then created a series of cups for the pantry in different glazes to create depth and differentiation. I learned a lot about myself in the process, especially patience. In this process, you have to hit the timing perfectly while the porcelain is drying otherwise the item will not release from the mold. The series took a lot of trial an error but I am definitely proud of the turnout.
This very well maybe my favorite piece of ceramics. I created this with the idea of Piet Mondrian’s painting as an inspiration. Keeping that in mind I kept a similar color palette. I created a pattern using various photoshop tools and then repeated them. The pattern created a nice division between colors. There is a beautiful moment where the blue is overlapping the yellow which creates depth. I made the pattern on a silk screen and then brought that over to my clay slab and screen printed it onto it.
The Design Tool Basket, A piece included in the Design series. Is a fruit bowl that is outlined in a citrus bright yellow. If you look very very closely the yellow in the inside of the bowl is a screen-printed pattern of the star tool in photoshop.
In this ceramic dish, you can see a lot visually going on. Inside the dish is a screen printed slab that was then molded into a bowl shape. The silk screen was a disorganized pattern of my favorite tools in photoshop. Take a peak and see if you can guess which tools are included!
These paintings were done in a new fashion. Done with no traditional art materials. The goal of these paintings was not the outcome but it was the process. I learned more about myself and my creative process than ever before. I have taken years and years of taught art classes. Never have I been able to find my process and what creative processes work for me. By treating the pieces in this way I was able to work from mistakes because there was no expected outcome.
Face (2019) was done with a yardstick, gauze, and a broken paintbrush. I used Stonehenge multimedia paper and 3 Liquitex Acrylic paints Crimson, Yellow Ochre, and Primary Blue
Glitter Splash (2019) was done with one dixie cup and glitter. I used an India ink and mixed it into a white acrylic to thin it out.

I love to work outside of Adobe, so any chance I have to pick up a pencil or watercolor set I take. These are two drawings I did after my travels to Europe in the fall of 2019. I went to Salzburg, Austria. I saw many little towns and villages also while there. This warm tone loose sketch was done while at a Christmas market in St. Gilgen Austria the biggest lake town outside of Salzburg. This second piece shown when you scroll down is of the Court Garden in Maribelplatz Munich, Germany. This trip was a turning point in my college experience. I had never fully traveled on my own. This trip gave me the sense of independence and confidence I had never felt before. These will forever be some of my favorite pieces of art and memories.
My backyard. My home. My Roots.
I depicted this piece while trying to decide on a college. Where do I go? What type of school do I want? These were the questions I dreaded. I did not like my classmates asking or teachers continuously asking where I had applied. I get emotional now when I see this piece because I have never really thought about it in a deeper way. I never have unraveled it like I would in an art history course. Now, looking at it hanging in childhood home almost 4 and 1/2 years later I feel those emotions all over again. I am seeing a thoughtful and planned out piece, which was the type of decision I was procrastinating on making. I am now feeling that same sense of confusion. I am now four years older and just as worried about what is next? So what is next for me, I am not sure but when I look at this in four years I am sure I will fine.

The Snow Crane, a piece done in Rhode Island School of Design’s Children’s Book Illustration course. I was given an 8 line poem and I needed to translate that into one illustration. I used the language and emotion in the poem to help cultivate my ideas.
